Frequently asked questions
The questions that come up most often. If yours is not here, WhatsApp is the fastest way to ask.
Buying
- How do I pay?
- Mobile money, card, bank transfer, or cash to the rider on delivery where the vendor offers it. Everything except cash on delivery goes through escrow.
- How long does delivery take?
- Within Luweero District, usually the same day for orders placed before mid-afternoon. The estimate for your address is shown before you pay.
- What is the delivery code?
- A one-time code in your account that you give the rider on handover. It is what marks the delivery complete and releases payment to the vendor, so never share it before you have the goods.
- Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
- Yes, where the vendor supports a pickup point. Choose collection at checkout and you will be told when the order is ready.
- The item is wrong or damaged. What now?
- Raise it from the order in your dashboard, within the window set out in the returns policy. If the order is still in escrow the money has not reached the vendor, which makes the refund straightforward.
- Is there a fee for buying?
- No. You pay the item price and the delivery fee. The platform commission comes out of the vendor’s side.
Account and access
- I forgot my password.
- Use "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in page. The link is single-use, expires quickly, and signing in with it ends every other session on the account.
- Can I sign in without a password?
- Yes. Choose sign in with your phone number and we send a one-time code by SMS. The number must already be on the account.
- How do I turn on two-factor authentication?
- In your dashboard under security. You will be shown a QR code for an authenticator app, and recovery codes to store somewhere safe.
- How do I download or delete my data?
- Both are in your dashboard and take effect immediately. Deleting an account overwrites the personal fields on your orders but keeps the order records, which the tax law requires us to retain.
Selling
- What does it cost to sell?
- A monthly plan for the number of listings, plus commission on completed sales only. The full table is on the pricing page.
- Do I need a registered business?
- No. Individual traders and market stalls can open a store. You do need a working Ugandan mobile-money number to receive payouts.
- How long does approval take?
- Usually under 24 hours. You will be emailed when the store goes live.
- When am I paid?
- When the buyer confirms delivery with their code. Every movement is in the ledger in your vendor dashboard.
- Can I sell farm produce before it is harvested?
- Yes — list a lot against the crop calendar and take reservations pre-harvest, at a fixed price per kilogram or by auction.
Riding and delivery
- How do I become a rider?
- Register an account and apply from the rider dashboard. You need a working motorcycle, a phone and a mobile-money number.
- How am I paid?
- Per completed delivery. A delivery counts as complete when the buyer gives you their one-time code and you enter it.
- What if the buyer is not there?
- Mark the attempt in the app. The order is held and the buyer is contacted; do not leave goods with a neighbour, because without the code the delivery cannot be confirmed and nobody gets paid.
